Job summary

BW Papersystems, part of the Barry-Wehmiller Group, seeks an experienced machinist to operate machines and perform precision turning, drilling and related operations in our Baltimore facility. You will work on shafts, housings and various metals, ensuring specifications match blueprints.

Responsibilities include setting up tools, measuring with micrometers and Vernier calipers, interpreting drawings, maintaining clean, safe work areas and communicating with teams to solve problems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform turning, drilling, tapping, boring and related machining operations on shafts and parts.
• Measure and test completed units with micrometers and calipers to ensure conformance to specs.
• Interpret and analyze blueprints and drawings to ensure correct operation sequences.
• Set up and operate basic machine tools and advanced variation tools.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and report unsafe conditions.
• Communicate with teams to solve problems independently.
