Job summary

GWS Tool Group in Hartland, WI is seeking a Machine Operator in the Manufacturing department to work with grinders and other manual machines to produce premium quality, high-precision cutting tools, verifying accuracy against engineering prints and drawings.

You will set up machines, establish offsets, read blueprints, and ensure conformance to specifications, while maintaining safety and ISO-compliant processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification from machining program preferred but not required.
• Minimum 1 year machine shop experience required.
• Strong math skills and blueprint reading ability.

Responsibilities

• Setup and offsets as required.
• Study blueprints, drawings, manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures and cutting tools on mills, lathes, grinders, and shapers.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, depth, and angle of cut.
• Daily machinery checks to ensure functionality.
• Comply with local laws, EH&S requirements, and ISO certifications.
• Other duties as assigned.
