HireReady Partners in Morgantown, WV is seeking an experienced Conventional Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role involves setting up and operating manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders to produce or repair precision metal components.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, holds tight tolerances, and demonstrates a commitment to quality and safety. Shift options include 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM and 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating conventional/manual machine tools.
• Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with close tolerances preferred.
• Basic welding/fabrication experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and other conventional machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
• Machine metal components to precise dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform threading, boring, drilling, milling, turning, and facing operations.
• Select and install tooling, fixtures, and machine attachments.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Make machine adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy throughout production.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
