Job summary

MiTek is seeking a Machinist in Missouri to set up and operate conventional manual lathe machines using Lean and 5S techniques to fabricate metal and non-metal parts. You will read blueprints, measure with micrometers and calipers, and ensure precise tolerances on customer-specific equipment.

The role requires high school or GED with 3+ years in manufacturing; familiarity with GD&T and basic geometry is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required; technical training preferred.
• 3+ years in manufacturing or job shop environment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
• Strong math skills and geometric understanding.

Responsibilities

• Identifies steel types and sizes needed for work.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specs for tolerances.
• Set up and operate turning machine to machine parts.
• Read tape measure, micrometers, calipers (imperial/metric).
• Inspect parts and record results, maintain clean work area.
• Follow lean and 5S methodologies on the shop floor.
• Attend shifts regularly and comply with overtime when required.
