Job summary

Smithey Ironware is seeking a hands-on Machinist with 1–4 years of experience to join our growing team in a production environment focused on precision and quality. You will work on CNC turning centers, read blueprints, and maintain meticulous measurements to ensure parts meet strict specifications.

You’ll collaborate with experienced machinists, grow your skills, and contribute to a culture of craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a machining, manufacturing technology, or skilled trades program (DCCTC or similar).
• 1-4 years of experience operating CNC or manual machining equipment in a production, job shop, or vocational setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC turning centers and related machinery with minimal supervision.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and drawings; interpret tolerances and specifications.
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) to ensure dimensions.
• Maintain quality and safety standards; communicate issues clearly with team.
• Follow production sequences to meet daily output and quality targets.
• Participate in training and mentoring opportunities.
