Job summary

Smithey Ironware is seeking a hands-on Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team in South Carolina. The role is entry to mid-level, with 1–4 years of CNC or manual machining experience and a focus on precision and quality. You will work both independently and with others to produce parts that meet tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of CNC or manual machining experience in a production, shop, or vocational setting.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and work instructions.
• OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC turning centers and related machinery with minimal supervision.
• Read blueprints, work orders, and drawings; interpret tolerances and specifications.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to inspect parts.
• Maintain safety protocols and clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with the team to meet daily output targets and quality goals.
