Job summary

Smithey Ironware Co. is seeking a hands-on Machinist in North Charleston, SC, with 1–4 years of experience to join our growing manufacturing team.

This entry to mid-level role focuses on precision machining and taking on greater responsibility in a production environment where quality is the standard. You’ll work both independently and with the team, solving problems, learning from experienced machinists, and owning your part of the process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of machining, manufacturing technology, or skilled trades program preferred.
• 1–4 years of experience operating CNC or manual machining equipment in production or vocational setting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
• OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC turning centers and related machinery with minimal supervision.
• Read blueprints and tolerances; interpret specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts.
• Maintain safe, organized work area and follow protocols.
