Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints to plan setup and operation of machine shop tools.
• Plans, sets up and operates machine shop tools to produce parts to tolerances.
• Operates tool room machinery safely during build process.
• Tests toolroom equipment for mechanical issues and traces to sources to fix problems.
• Mends parts not available commercially or from inventory.
• Uses precision measuring tools to inspect work before starting jobs.
• Works with other trades such as tool and die, maintenance, electricians, etc.
