Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet is seeking skilled trades technicians to perform machining operations and disassembly, repair, and assembly of shipboard components in a demanding, safety‑driven environment. You will inspect valves, pumps, air compressors, and other equipment, reporting conditions and ensuring all work meets specifications.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens, able to travel as required, and capable of handling lifting and confined spaces.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must pass suitability checks and E-Verify.
• Willingness to travel to CONUS/OCONUS as required.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to read color codes and small scales (1/64 inch).

Responsibilities

• Perform machining operations or equipment disassembly, repair, and assembly.
• Disassemble and inspect components via measurement and visual inspection; report conditions.
• Repair, assemble, and test components per specifications.
• Operate conventional machine tools (engine lathes, turret lathes, milling machines, drill presses, shapers).
• Set up machines, select tooling, control feeds and speeds in successive operations.
• Use grinders, drills, reamers, taps, dies, wrenches, chisels, files, scrapers, punches, hammers; measure with scales, micrometers, gauges, calipers.
• Read blueprints to determine dimensional and surface finish requirements and operation sequence.
• Maintain a clean, safe worksite and ensure proper operation of machine tools and equipment.
