Job summary

The Machinist/Assembler at THREADED FASTENERS INC in Alsip, IL will set up and operate various machine tools to manufacture parts that meet exact specifications. You will read prints, measure with gauges, and assemble components into final equipment.

Responsibilities include planning manufacturing steps, inspecting parts for defects, maintaining a clean, organized shop, and documenting processes. Prior tool & die experience is a plus; safety and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

Reading blueprints, fabrication and welding.
Ability to read gauges and perform precise measurements.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to plan manufacturing steps.
Knowledge of machine functions and safe operation.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, saws, grinders, and related equipment.
Make parts to tight tolerances dictated by the print.
Develop a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications.
Measure raw materials and components with gauges.
Interpret specification charts, samples, and drawings to ensure requirements are met.
Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure quality.
Maintain and organize the machine shop workspace.
Assemble equipment from prints and bill of materials.
Inventory parts and tools used in assembly.
Test finished products and ensure proper function.
Plumbing of hydraulic and pneumatic lines and valves.
