Job summary

Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Virginia Beach is seeking a Machinist to set up and operate a range of machine tools in the Oceana Production Branch.

You will work with 2- to 5-axis CNC machines, EDMs and related equipment, ensuring accuracy per blueprints, drawings and aerospace manuals. The role requires selecting tools, speeds, feeds, and sequencing for each job.

Qualifications

• Experience operating 2- to 5-axis machining centers and related equipment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings and manuals.
• Familiarity with precision measurement and tool selection.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines including 5-axis machining centers, grinders, mills, lathes and drills.
• Use machine tool attachments and related equipment to perform precision work.
• Maintain accuracy per blueprints and aerospace manuals.
• Select tools, speeds, feeds, and sequencing for each job.
• Operate EDM, Electron Beam Welders, Electrolytic Chemical Grinders, and CNC grinders.
