Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a skilled Machinist (2nd shift) to operate manual lathes and milling machines, and to repair precision components. The role requires reading blueprints, applying GD&T, and maintaining tight tolerances with attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have experience with lathes, VTL, grinding and milling, plus strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. The position includes exposure to a safety-conscious team environment and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Trade school certificate or machining program preferred.
Experience operating manual machines required.
Certifications may be required per equipment manufacturer.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain manual machine tools to fabricate or repair precision components, within tight tolerances.
Analyze blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine machine setups and sequences.
Apply GD&T to ensure product conformity.
Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and pi tapes to ensure specifications are met.
Align and secure fixtures, tools, and materials onto machines.
Maintain and calibrate tooling and fixtures, ensuring consistent performance.
Document production and inspection results and communicate priorities with supervision.
