Job summary

The WIKA Group is seeking a skilled machinist in Georgia to monitor machine operation, verify settings, and detect deviations from tolerance. You will adjust setups, inspect first parts, and refine processes for optimal performance.

Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining equipment, assisting with repairs, and training new staff. Overtime, weekend work, and physical lifting are required with a strong emphasis on safety and precision.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Must be detailed oriented.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
• Be able to work overtime if required. (including weekends)
• Knowledge of using drill fixtures and jigs.
• Basic understanding of machining applications.
• Know how to setup machines for specific applications.
• Understanding of how to read blue prints.

Responsibilities

• Observe machine operation to verify accuracy and detect malfunctions using precision measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper).
• Adjust machines to control part process and inspect first parts and ongoing pieces for out-of-tolerance machining.
• Fine tune machine settings for optimum performance.
• Clean and maintain machine, tooling, and parts for optimal production condition.
• Exercise care to prevent machine damage and costly repairs.
• Assist mechanics and machinists in repair work.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
• Perform ancillary duties as needed.
