Job summary

Boston Dynamics, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director of Machining to lead Milling and Turning within the Precision Shop. You will own scheduling, throughput, and quality, and drive capability development and CNC talent strategy to meet prototype demand.

You will convert strategic direction into production-ready programs, lean processes, and a scalable machining bench. The role requires 12+ years in high-precision CNC environments, with 5+ years in leadership, deep CAM/CNC know-how, and strong

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in multi-axis CNC milling and turning with program development.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, GD&T, and CAD/CAM data.
• Experience leading production schedules, capacity planning, and programs.

Responsibilities

• Own shop-floor productivity, throughput, on-time delivery and first-pass yield for Milling, Turning, and Post-Processing.
• Own budget, staffing planning, CAPEX/OPEX across machining departments.
• Review and approve CNC programs ensuring tolerance and robotics compatibility.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with measurable outcomes.
• Develop and enforce CNC programming standards and tooling strategies.
• Mentor supervisors, machinists, and programmers; lead talent development.
