Job summary

Boston Dynamics, Inc. is seeking an expert CNC Technician to create and optimize complex CNC programs for precision robotic components.

You will design advanced toolpaths, select tooling and fixturing strategies, and collaborate with engineers to improve cycle times and quality. The role offers high autonomy with strong technical fluency, requiring experience with multi‑axis machines and CAM tools in robotics or precision manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming and advanced machining experience.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and tight tolerances.
• Experience with multi‑axis machines and CAM software.
• Familiarity with ISO/AS quality systems and ERP/CAD/CAM tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify CNC programs for multi‑axis lathes and mills.
• Analyze drawings and GD&T to ensure precision requirements.
• Recommend tooling, speeds, feeds, and clamping methods.
• Design fixtures for challenging geometries and robotics integration.
• Program, setup, and operate CNC equipment to tight specs.
• Run tests, simulate toolpaths, and validate output.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and mentor junior programmers.
• Contribute to root cause analyses and process improvements.
