Job summary

Entegee is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Estimator to develop detailed cost estimates for precision machined components, evaluate manufacturing feasibility, and prepare customer quotations. You will optimize cost models and work with cross-functional teams to ensure competitive pricing and manufacturability.

The role requires a 5+ year track record in cost estimation within medical device, automotive, or aerospace sectors, and experience with ERP systems and CAD tools to perform DFM analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of cost estimation experience in manufacturing for precision machined components.
• Experience in medical device, automotive, or aerospace manufacturing.
• Experience with contract manufacturers or OEMs.
• Experience with ERP systems, cost modeling tools, and RFQ workflows.
• Knowledge of processes, materials, tooling, and labor cost estimation.
• Ability to read drawings and CAD models for manufacturability.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or CAD/CAM for cost estimation and DFM analysis.
• Experience analyzing cycle times, scrap, material costs, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming RFQs and quotations to meet deadlines.
• Develop detailed manufacturing cost estimates including materials, labor, tools, overhead, and capital expenditures.
• Evaluate RFQs for feasibility, manufacturability, and cost.
• Review drawings, customer CAD models, prints, and specs to identify risks, tolerances, materials, and tooling impacts.
• Determine manufacturing processes and production methods based on design and requirements.
• Prepare formal customer quotations detailing pricing assumptions, exceptions, lead times, and terms.
• Develop revised quotations after engineering changes and modifications.
• Validate cycle times, scrap assumptions, and processing requirements with Engineering.
• Support technical RFQ reviews, customer discussions, and quotation evaluations.
• Document estimating assumptions, technical requirements, and cost calculations for tracking.
• Verify raw material pricing, MOQs, lead times, and purchasing requirements with Supply Chain.
• Coordinate with Quality Engineering on regulatory, inspection, and validation requirements (AQL, PPAP, IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Develop and maintain manufacturing cost models, work center rates, and templates.
• Analyze actual manufacturing performance data to improve estimating accuracy.
• Update ERP systems with costing information.
• Track quoted costs against actual production costs to identify variances and improve estimates.
• Support cost reduction initiatives and process improvements through data analysis.
