This role may require overtime and second/third shift support to meet contract needs, and requires expertise with tool setting, measurement, and close tolerances in a machining environment.

Qualifications

• Expertise with engine lathes, milling machines, grinders, and jig borers and ability to read drawings.
• Extensive knowledge of machine shop and tool room practice through on-the-job experience.
• Familiarity with tool dressing, coolants, and cutting oils.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute complex machining operations with correct feeds, speeds, and tooling.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders, and jig borers.
• Plan multi-step machining operations with precise setups.
• Install cutting tools and adjust guides, stops, and controls.
• Determine feeds, speeds, tooling, and sequences from drawings.
• Measure parts with precision instruments and adjust to tolerances.
• Select coolants and perform tool dressing.
• Fabricate, repair, and finish metal parts and fixtures.
