HX5, LLC is seeking a Machine-Tool Operator (Tool Room) to work onsite in a laboratory environment at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The role involves operating multiple types of machine tools to machine metal for jigs, fixtures, gauges, and molds, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities include planning difficult machining operations, selecting appropriate feeds and tooling from drawings, and using precision instruments to maintain very close tolerances.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of machine shop and tool room practices.
• Experience setting up and operating machine tools to machine metal.
• Ability to select feeds, speeds, tooling and operation sequences from drawings/blueprints.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and ensuring tight tolerances.
• Ability to obtain NASA background screening and pass medical screenings.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform machining operations with complex setups and high accuracy.
• Set up machine tools, install cutting tools, adjust guides and tables.
• Determine feeds, speeds, tooling and sequences from drawings.
• Use precision measuring instruments and adjust to achieve tight tolerances.
