Job summary

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of science or engineering.
• Highly specialized skills related to test facilities, test stands, laboratories, chambers, equipment obtained through specialized training, on the job experience, and/or certification(s).
• The ability to prepare design drawings and assist with the design, evaluation, and/or modification of machinery and equipment.
• Be able to provide semi-professional technical support for engineers in research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement.
• Ability to communicate with peers, supervisors and customers clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Develop or review designs by extracting and analyzing engineering data, preparing schematics, designs, specs, and drawings.
• Conduct complex tests or experiments, record data, and prepare test reports.
• Apply methods to limited segments of projects; build experimental models and evaluate data.
• Extract and compile engineering data from field notes, manuals, and lab reports.
• Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, materials, and equipment.
• Work with electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment.
• Perform non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
• Receive technical advice from supervisor or engineer.
