Job summary

Burton Mill Solutions in Menominee, MI is hiring two Machine Operators for 1st shift (5am–3pm, Mon–Thu). You will set up machines, adjust tooling, read blueprints, perform quality checks, and help maintain safe, clean work areas.

Starting pay ranges from $19 to $22 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for training and advancement. We require a high school diploma or equivalent, English literacy, basic math ability, and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds (up to 100 with

Qualifications

• Must be able to read English and perform basic math.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds alone or 100 pounds with lift assist.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
• Able to input data into ERP system and use Microsoft Teams and email.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines and change tooling or saw blades to grind/cut steel.
• Use specialized saws or hand tools.
• Use calipers and micrometers; understand fractions and decimals.
• Read industrial knife blueprints.
• Perform quality checks.
• Keep scrap production within limits.
• Complete SPC charts for assignments.
• Operate forklift (or obtain certification).
• Load/unload steel from machines.
• Add coolant and manage swarf.
• Maintain cleaning of machines and area.
• Work with urgency while following safety protocols.
• Cross-train to other positions as needed.
