Job summary

The York Group, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to support setup, calibration, and operation of production machines. You will inspect finished products against tolerances using precision tools and address minor malfunctions.

Responsibilities include unloading parts, operating equipment, maintaining stock, and determining parts to be manufactured based on orders. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years of machine operating experience or equivalent.
• Occasional travel locally, nationally or internationally may be required.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, Outlook and Internet applications.
• Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management and planning skills.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills with analysis, interpretation and reasoning.
• Basic understanding of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across the organization and with clients.
• Able to work autonomously and in a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Mechanical aptitude; able to use hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and torch.
• Overtime flexibility as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Unloads parts and inspects for quality and performs equipment set-up.
• Operates various equipment to meet production and business needs.
• Maintains stock of material and machine parts for equipment.
• Determine parts to be manufactured based on production orders and stock.
• Monitors machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Other duties as assigned.
