Job summary

Astec, a global manufacturer, seeks a Machine Operator to set up, run, monitor, and troubleshoot production equipment. You will inspect parts to spec, adjust tools, and maintain quality while following safety rules in a shop environment.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, measuring with tape and standards, and coordinating with colleagues to prevent downtime. Training will be provided, and a GED or trade coursework is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Trade school or college coursework desired.
• Blueprint reading skills desired.
• 2+ years of heavy equipment manufacturing.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good troubleshooting skills and ability to maintain quality.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and interpret cut lists.
• Operate and monitor production machines safely.
• Perform preventive maintenance per manuals.
• Record daily activity in logs.
• Use measuring tools to verify tolerances.
• Coordinate with team to address breakdowns.
