Job summary

Astec is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on production machines. You will inspect parts to specs and adjust processes, while keeping an activity log and maintaining quality standards.

Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma (GED acceptable), basic blueprint reading, and the ability to read and interpret measurements. This role is in a fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Relevant trade school or college courses desired.
  • Blueprint reading skills desired.
  • 0–2 years heavy equipment/manufacturing experience desired.
  • Computer basic skills (mouse, files) preferred.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and learn machine operation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a production machine per guidelines.
  • Control and adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately.
  • Perform pre-operation checks for startup readiness.
  • Read blueprints and perform tasks accordingly.
  • Maintain a detailed daily activity log.
  • Communicate with team to ensure safety and efficiency.
