Job summary

Astec is seeking a Machine Operator in Chattanooga, TN to set up, operate and monitor production machines, troubleshoot issues and perform preventive maintenance to ensure quality and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic blueprint reading and math skills, and the ability to follow verbal instructions. Training will be provided, and safety and teamwork are integral to our manufacturing culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Relevant trade school or college coursework desired.
• Blueprint reading skills desired.
• 0-2 Heavy equipment manufacturing experience desired.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to follow verbal instructions; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a production machine in accordance with guidelines.
• Control and adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately.
• Perform pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation.
• Read blueprints and perform layout as needed.
• Maintain a detailed activity log of daily duties.
