Job summary

ManpowerGroup's client in Clare, MI is seeking a hands-on Machine Operator to support the machine shop and production operations. You will read blueprints, set up and operate saws, drills, and related equipment, and verify parts meet engineering specifications with careful measurement.

Apply your experience with calipers and micrometers, maintain tight tolerances, and follow safety guidelines. Immediate start through mid-December with an evening shift (4 pm–2 am) and a pay range of $17.35–$26.05

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college; or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• Experience operating industrial machinery and performing machine setup to meet production requirements.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics to guide machining and cutting operations.
• Competence using measuring tools such as tape measure, caliper, and micrometer.
• Forklift operation experience and safe operation of forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate saw, drill, iron worker, plasma table, or shear while following safety guidelines.
• Verify materials are the proper type and dimension before cutting or drilling.
• Use work orders and QC packets to complete work accurately and support the quality system.
• Read, interpret, and utilize blueprints to produce parts that meet engineering and customer specifications.
• Perform quality checks prior to sending parts to the next operation, using common measurement tools (tape measure, caliper, micrometer) and maintaining tight tolerances.
