Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator for 1st shift (Mon.-Thur. 4x10) to support its critical water infrastructure manufacturing.

The role involves operating testing equipment, positioning components, and safely handling materials using overhead cranes, while reading blueprints and following specified procedures. You will maintain production logs, ensure quality, and help with assembly as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Holds a valid driver’s license.
• 3+ years’ experience operating paint/blast equipment in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate testing equipment, positioning products, components, or parts appropriately.
• Safely operate overhead cranes in the moving of materials around work cell and testing equipment.
• Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.
• Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
• Clean, maintain, calibrate, or repair measuring instruments or test equipment, such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, or height gauges.
• Regularly assist in the assembly of products whenever necessary.
• Maintain appropriate operational documentation, including production and quality logs.
• Ensures work areas and department are clean and organized.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to all relevant safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations and flagging any equipment or safety issues to the appropriate team lead, supervisor, maintenance, or EHS personnel utilizing “Stop, Call, Wait” procedure.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
