Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a skilled Machine Builder to assemble custom automated machinery from the ground up. The role emphasizes precision assembly, reading engineering drawings, and collaboration with engineering teams on build improvements.

Onsite in Nashville, TN, the position offers exposure to unique automation projects, a hands-on environment, and opportunities for travel up to 20%. Entry-level candidates may be considered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
• Proven experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, or related role in automation is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, CAD prints, and assembly documentation.
• Experience with hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and assembly equipment.
• Familiarity with pneumatics, linear motion components, and industrial hardware.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble custom automation equipment per engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Perform precision mechanical assembly ensuring accurate fit and finish.
• Assist with machine debugging, testing, and validation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve build challenges and improve designs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe workplace.
• Support machine installation and commissioning at customer sites as needed.
• Travel up to 20% of the time, including potential international travel.
