Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Hampton, VA is seeking a Layout Inspector to join the Industrial Gas Turbine group. You will inspect castings, wax patterns, tooling, and precision instruments for conformance to blueprints using coordinate measuring machines and related software.

This on-site role offers 2nd shift (M-F 3pm–11pm) with initial training on 1st shift (7am–3pm). Starting at $25.31/hr, rising to $28.13/hr after six months, plus a $1.00/hr shift premium for off-shift work.

Qualifications

• Requires associate's degree from two-year college or technical school, or one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be available for all shifts. Flexible with overtime and weekends as site needs vary.
• U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Inspect castings, wax patterns, customer tooling, and precision measuring equipment for conformance to blueprints and specifications.
• Operate CMMs and software for data measurement and analysis.
• Calibrate and repair gauges and inspection instruments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards and customer requirements.
