Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, MI, is seeking a Layout Inspector for the off-shift in our Whitehall Casting Operation to perform accurate dimensional inspections of structural castings and report results per requirements.

You will operate CMMs and blue light scanners, develop inspection programs, generate and verify FAIRs, calibrate handhelds, and support engineering and manufacturing with precision metrology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with post-high school experience or six months manufacturing exposure.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and inspection requirements using GD&T.
• Operation of basic metrology equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CMMs and Blue Light Scanners to support production.
• Develop and modify inspection programs for equipment.
• Generate and verify dimensional portions of FAIRs.
• Complete layout inspections as needed for engineering.
• Calibrate and service handheld measurement equipment at a basic level.
• Assist in maintaining tooling and calibration database.
• Assist shop floor with measuring equipment as needed.
