Job summary

Positronic Industries, Inc. is seeking a Lathe Operator to set up and run single spindle horizontal screw machines for boring, threading, and facing on metal parts. This role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols on a busy production floor.

Operators in training will work with a designated trainer to learn machine operation, tooling, and quality procedures, while complying with OSHA, NFPA, and company sustainability practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing/machining experience preferred but not required.
• Must pass ABC certification program to advance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare screw machines with required tools, stock, and adjustments.
• Feed raw material into machines and control stock length.
• Start machines and observe production runs, ensuring proper function.
• Inspect first-run parts and adjust machines to maintain quality standards.
• Use precision measurement tools to verify part conformance.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Uphold company standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
• Identify hazards in the workplace and report them.
• Collaborate with EHS to meet regulatory requirements and sustainability practices.
• Work with Quality to ensure AS9100 standards compliance.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
