Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO is seeking a sheet metal laser operator to set up, operate, and maintain laser cutting machines while ensuring safety and quality. You will read blueprints, deburr parts, and verify measurements using micrometers and calipers, with SAP documentation and 5S adherence.

The role requires forklift certification, strong numeracy, and the ability to work in a high-paced environment, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Numeracy skills for countersink depths and sheet thickness.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineered drawings.
• Experience with SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain laser cutting machines per blueprints.
• Load/unload Timesaver and adjust for precision.
• Deburr parts using hand tools.
• Operate waterjet abrasive removal tool and sheet metal tapping.
• Use a Bridgeport Mill to countersink sheet metal.
• Move materials safely with vacuum lift and overhead crane; forklift certification is a plus.
• Record labor estimates in SAP and ensure parts are tagged and staged correctly.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and conduct quality checks.
• Keep work area organized to 5S standards.
• Overtime as required.
