Job summary

Black Rock Enterprises is actively seeking a Land Surveyor to support civil construction, utilities, and heavy highway projects across New Jersey. You will ensure precise sitework from topographic mapping to as-built data, collaborating with field superintendents and project managers to keep critical milestones on track.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of surveying experience with GPS and robotic total station tech, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional land surveying experience specifically within civil construction or sitework.
• Proven proficiency with Leica, Trimble, or Topcon, and GNSS systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction plans, site grades, and technical documents.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills for real-time field calculations.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-precision field surveys for civil, utility, and heavy highway projects to ensure absolute accuracy.
• Utilize advanced GPS, robotic total stations, and drones to collect and process critical field data.
• Interpret complex project plans and technical specifications to establish vital reference points and boundaries.
• Coordinate directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to verify site controls and resolve technical discrepancies.
• Maintain and calibrate sophisticated surveying instruments to guarantee the integrity of all project measurements.
• Document detailed field reports and digital records to maintain project transparency and historical accuracy.
• Enforce strict OSHA safety standards across all jobsites to protect the team and the community.
