Job summary

You will prepare joints, operate cutting torches and grinders, and ensure precise dimensions while coordinating with welders and other trades in a shipyard setting. Your day shaping seaworthy structuresPicture starting your shift with a blueprint in hand. You study drawings and layouts, plan your approach, and translate those lines into precisely fitted hull components. You’ll mark out and measure, then cut, fit, and align steel plates, stiffeners, and bulkheads so every joint lands exactly where it should. You’ll stage materials for welding, use cutting torches and grinders with care, and double-check dimensions and alignment before the welders lock it all in.
