Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Fabricator in Florida to fabricate, repair, adapt and rectify dies and other mechanical parts with high precision by interpreting blueprints, consulting specifications and running operative tests. The role involves fitting and assembling parts, and modifying dies to match engineering changes.

Qualifications

Typically requires a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials and processes.
Ability to measure with straightedges, calipers and templates to ensure conformance to specifications.

Responsibilities

Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts prior to assembly.
Examines work pieces for defects and measures to specification.
Verifies conformance with rulers and tapes.
Sets up and operates fabricating machines (brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drill presses).
May weld components in various positions and tack-weld as needed.
Maintains safe work habits and keeps the area clean.
Studies drawings to determine materials and task sequences.
