Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Ohio is seeking a Heavy Casting Abrasive Finishing Technician to set up and run large, high-speed metal-removal machines and prepare parts for downstream processes with meticulous surface finishing.

You will grind, sand, polish, inspect for porosity and cracks, verify dimensions against prints, and document results, while maintaining safety and a clean work environment. Overtime may be required to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year technical degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Able to read blueprints/layouts and use precision measurement tools.
• Handheld grinding/polishing proficiency; safety‑driven and team‑oriented.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate large high-speed metal-removal machines to fabricate metal parts.
• Grind, sand, clean, and polish metal components using hand grinders and powered tools.
• Identify and mark defects (porosity, cracks) for repair; mark parts with required identifiers.
• Measure, mark, and lay out workpieces; study blueprints/layouts to plan sequences.
• Operate controls to start/stop equipment; load parts using overhead cranes; document results.
