CubCrafters in Yakima, WA is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to set up, operate, and monitor Haas CNC turning equipment for precision aircraft components.

This full-time manual labor role requires reading engineering drawings, performing in-process inspections, and maintaining quality through meticulous setup and measurement. It includes a strong safety focus and a 40-hour workweek with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one year CNC machining or CNC lathe experience preferred.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC turning centers, preferably Haas equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Proficient in use of precision measuring equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated reliability and regular attendance.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds and frequently perform standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Ability to work in a machining and manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving machinery, production equipment, metal chips, metal dust, cutting fluids, moderate to high noise levels, and varying indoor temperatures.
• Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and respirators when required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Haas CNC lathe machines to produce precision components.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, setup sheets and process specifications.
• Verify machine settings, tooling, offsets, and program parameters prior to production.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and make offset adjustments as required to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Identify and report quality concerns, tooling issues, equipment malfunctions, and process improvement opportunities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company 5S principals and safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
