Job summary

Brooksource Engineering Services is seeking a skilled Grinding Operator to support one of our manufacturing clients in Mooresville, IN. The role involves performing close-tolerance grinding, interpreting engineering drawings, and producing high-precision components.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of machining experience, proficiency with Surface, OD/ID, and Wet grinders, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with close-tolerance grinding and precision finishing.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply information from engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Set up and operate grinding equipment, including mounting and dressing grinding wheels to required tolerances using approved dressing methods.
• Establish and adjust grinding speeds, feed rates, and machine parameters to meet product specifications and quality requirements.
• Inspect and verify workpiece dimensions throughout the grinding process using precision measuring instruments.
• Replace worn or damaged grinding wheels and perform basic equipment checks to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Perform close-tolerance grinding on a variety of materials and component sizes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety and quality standards.
• Operate multiple types of grinding equipment, including Surface Grinders, Wet Grinders, and OD/ID Grinders.
• Document inspection results, production activity, and any process deviations as required.
