Job summary

Wenger Manufacturing, LLC is seeking an entry-level grinder to smooth and finish surfaces on manufactured parts. You will operate a grinder, inspect surfaces for defects, and select appropriate abrasive tools to remove rust and burrs, aiming for a smooth, unmarred finish.

The role requires strong communication and teamwork, ability to meet KPI-driven deadlines, ERP literacy, and reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Examines and feels surface of workpiece for defects.
• Selects grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives and condition of metal and attaches to grinder.
• Starts grinder and moves it over surface of part to remove scratches, rust and burrs.
• Polishes ground area with finer abrasive to produce a smooth, unmarred surface.
• Replaces worn abrasive disks, wheels and belts.
• Operate lift truck with certification.
• Other duties assigned due to the need of the business.
