Job summary

K+S Services in Taylor, MI is seeking an OD/ID Grinder to set up, operate, and monitor grinding operations, including cylindrical and ID grinding and specialized tooling work. You will plan feeds and speeds, select tooling, and verify accuracy with precision measuring instruments.

Qualifications include journeyman machining or 8 years experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and blueprint reading skills. Proficiency with basic computer skills and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive machine shop knowledge typically gained through on-the-job training and experience.
• Journeyman machining or 8 years equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read prints.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge/experience with other machines (lathe, mill, CNC setup/programming, surface grind) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and tend the OD/ID grinder.
• Handle cylindrical and ID grinding and tool/spindle grinding.
• Plan and perform difficult grinding operations requiring accuracy.
• Determine feeds, speeds, tooling and sequence from drawings/blueprints with precision instruments.
• Maintain a ready supply of perishable tools for operation.
• Assist at other machines in Manufacturing when needed.
