Job summary

Urschel Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Precision Grinder for 2nd shift in Chesterton, Indiana. The role involves setting up and operating manual and CNC grinders to produce precision parts, with a starting pay of $31.81/hour plus a 5% shift differential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years related experience and/or training with a high school education or equivalent.
• Ability to solve math problems, use precision measuring instruments, basic computer skills and communicate effectively.
• Familiarity with FANUC controls, Studer and Agathon is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC precision grinding machines to grind carbide, stainless steel and bronze parts to specified dimensions.
• Set up and operate honing machines and keyway cutters.
• Select, mount, attach and calibrate a variety of grinding wheels for cylindrical and flat grinding.
• Interpret engineering prints and setup notes to determine fixturing, dimensional specifications and operating requirements.
