Job summary

Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Precision Grinder for 2nd shift in Chesterton, IN. Full-time; Monday–Thursday with possible Friday work based on workloads. Starting pay is $31.81/hour plus 5% shift differential. The role involves setup and operation of manual and CNC grinding for carbide, stainless steel, and bronze parts, following engineering drawings. Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years related experience and/or training with a high school education or equivalent.
• Ability to solve math problems and use precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC precision grinding machines to grind carbide, stainless steel, and bronze parts to specified dimensions.
• Set up and operate honing machines and keyway cutters.
• Select, mount, attach and calibrate grinding wheels for cylindrical and flat grinding.
• Interpret engineering prints and setup notes to determine fixturing, dimensional specifications, and operating requirements.
