Job summary

McElroy Manufacturing, a Tulsa-based leader in precision machined components, is seeking a skilled Precision Grinder to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate grinding machines, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances with high-quality finishes.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in precision grinding or high-tolerance machining, strong measurement skills with micrometers, calipers, and gauges, and a keen safety mindset in a climate-controlled shop.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of precision grinding or high-tolerance machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Strong attention to detail and safety-minded.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate precision grinding machines (surface, OD/ID, magnetic chuck, CNC, crush grinders).
• Read and interpret blueprints, job packets, and drawings to ensure accuracy.
• Select and dress appropriate grinding wheels for each project.
• Inspect finished parts to confirm tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.
• Maintain and perform light repairs on grinding equipment.
• Collaborate with teammates and engineers to solve problems and improve processes.
• Keep workspace clean, organized and safe.

McElroy Manufacturing is hiring a skilled Precision Grinder to join our manufacturing team at our Fulton campus. We build high-quality, precision components that help power essential industries — and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and enjoys producing parts that meet exacting standards.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate precision grinding machines, including surface, OD/ID, magnetic chuck, CNC, and crush grinders.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience in precision grinding or high-tolerance machining.
• Familiarity with grinding machines, tooling, and materials.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Excellent attention to detail — you take pride in producing top-quality work.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety.
