Job summary

McElroy Metal is seeking a maintenance technician to perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on factory equipment. You will dismantle devices, replace parts, and conduct preventive maintenance following OEM guidelines.

Qualified candidates have 2–3 years in a mechanical/maintenance role, can perform electronic and mechanical maintenance, and may rotate shifts. McElroy Metal offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical equipment and obtain necessary replacement parts.
• Dismantle devices to access and replace defective parts.
• Inspect parts for dimensional changes using calipers, micrometers and rules.
• Adjust functional parts of devices using hand tools and levels.
• Repair or replace defective parts and install structural components.
• Perform preventive maintenance following OEM guidelines and timeline.
• Provide weekly compliance updates for major production equipment.
• Support overhead cranes and coordinate with vendors for PM/inspections.
• Operate lathe, drill press and grinder to make/repair parts.

8:00 am - 5:00 pm M-F or alternate shifts to accommodate production.

Responsibilities

• Perform all required electrical/mechanical troubleshooting on Company equipment, obtain necessary replacement parts, and perform required repairs.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine to changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
• Assigned responsibility for LOTOTO and works with employees during such LOTOTO.
• Performs Preventive Maintenance on equipment following OEM guidelines and timeline
  • Provides weekly percent compliance of all major production equipment to the PM and OM
• Provides support for all overhead cranes and works with vendor for troubleshooting and scheduled PM/inspections.
• Works with Vendor on mobile equipment repairs and internal PM requirements
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in a mechanical/maintenance-related field.
• Demonstrated ability to perform electronic maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical maintenance.
• Must have the ability to rotate shifts on occasion.
