Shift Availability

Day shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (OT as needed)

Night shift: 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM (Includes shift premium, OT as needed)

General Function

Setup and operate manual and CNC grinding machines for precision ID, OD, form, and surface grinding. Study blueprints or layouts to plan the grinding process and sequence of operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure safety by following established policies and procedures.
• Setup and operate manual and CNC precision grinding equipment, including multi-axis and flat surface grinding.
• Experience with the setup and operation of precision grinding equipment, including diamond and super-abrasive wheels.
• Grinding various metals such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, tungsten carbide, etc.
• Dressing abrasive wheels using dressing diamonds and rotary dressing wheels.
• Interpret blueprints/layouts, plan operations, and select appropriate work-holding and cutting parameters.
• Perform various grinding techniques including plunge, traverse, face, form, multi-axis, and angle grinding.
• Recognize and address abrasive wheel wear.
• Program CNC grinding machines as needed.
• Use precision measuring instruments to maintain tolerances of .0001".
• Select and use equipment such as grinding magnets, vises, sine plates, and fixtures.
• Apply trigonometry, geometry, and math skills for angular and positional calculations.
• Correct for inaccuracies like taper during grinding.
• Understand and implement machine setup principles and operate multiple machines simultaneously.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Follow the company's Quality Management System and strive to improve processes.

Physical Requirements

• Stand for long periods (up to 10 hours/day).
• Operate overhead cranes and follow proper lifting techniques.
• Good eye-hand coordination and use of hand tools.

Education

HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
