Job summary

Manufacturing Technology, Inc. (MTI) in South Bend, IN is seeking a Machine Setup Technician for the Manufacturing Services division. You will set up friction welding machines, load fixtures, and inspect parts to meet customer specifications.

The role emphasizes lean manufacturing, safety, and collaboration with process engineers. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to train others while maintaining high quality and process

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing facility and ability to set up and operate machinery.
• Reading and interpreting part prints.
• Aptitude with hand tools and attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up friction welding machines and fixtures per customer specs.
• Operate machines to produce parts within tolerances.
• Inspect parts using gauges and inspection data sheets.
• Assist in creating work instructions, SOPs, and training materials.
• Support lean manufacturing and corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure safety and proper PPE usage on all shifts.
