Job summary

JR Metal Works LLC is seeking a skilled Food Grade Stainless Steel Welder to fit, fabricate and weld custom aluminum and stainless steel assemblies. You will read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, and produce high-quality welds with tight tolerances.

The role emphasizes MIG/GMAW and TIG/GTAW welding, precision fit-up, and thorough inspection to ensure structural integrity and dimensional accuracy on non-ferrous components. On-site welding test required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in custom metal fabrication and welding.
• Strong experience reading blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications.
• Welding non-ferrous metals, particularly aluminum and stainless steel.
• Experience with TIG/GTAW and MIG/GMAW welding.
• Ability to perform precision fit-up and welding on custom-fabricated components.
• Accurate measurement, fit, alignment, and inspection of fabricated components.
• Identify and correct weld distortion, fit-up issues, and alignment problems.
• Must own a welding helmet and pass JR Metal Works' welding assessment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, work orders, and fabrication specifications.
• Fit, fabricate, tack, and weld aluminum, stainless steel, and other non-ferrous components.
• Perform MIG/GMAW and TIG/GTAW welding as required by the job and material.
• Prepare, clean, and position materials prior to welding for quality.
• Lay out, align, and fit components using measuring tools and fixtures.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances before, during, and after welding.
• Inspect welds for quality, appearance, and conformance to specs.
• Identify and fix fit-up issues, distortion, and alignment before final welding.
• Maintain safe work practices and operate shop equipment as trained.
