Job summary

AV Gauge seeks a dedicated toolmaker/machinist to prepare fixture details and components for the final assembly process at our Kentucky facility. You will operate machine shop equipment, measure parts, read blueprints, and maintain a clean, safe work environment in a dynamic production setting.

We value candidates with 1 year of shop experience, familiarity with fixtures and gauges, and the ability to multitask under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience operating machine shop equipment (Bridgeport mill, lathe, grinder, tumbler).
• Ability to utilize measurement instruments (caliper, micrometer, gauge block).
• Ability to read basic blueprints.
• Manufacturing assembly setting work experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with check fixtures, jigs and gauges is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Secure, measure and cut raw metal stock to prescribed sizes.
• Square up metal blocks.
• Clean Black Oxide from details.
• Remove sharp edges on details through de-burring.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to shape work piece to prescribed finish.
• Keep a clean and organized work station.
• Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines and company policies.
• Other general labor duties, as required.
