Job summary

IKG USA LLC in Houston seeks a reliable Laser Operator to run the Bystronic BySmart Fiber 4020 laser cutter in a fast-paced fabrication setting. You will load materials, verify programs, inspect parts, perform basic maintenance, and keep a safe, efficient workspace while meeting production targets.

Ideal candidates have hands-on mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality; forklift certification or ability to obtain it is preferred; prior CNC laser experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment.
• Forklift certification or ability to become forklift certified.
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, and production documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while communicating with supervisors and maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Bystronic BySmart Fiber 4020 laser cutting machine.
• Upload and verify programs for production runs.
• Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to prioritize and schedule work.
• Load raw material and unload finished parts using a forklift.
• Inspect parts for quality and ensure they meet production requirements.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning the machine, shuttle tables, and slats.
• Replace worn slats and assist with other routine equipment upkeep.
• Monitor machine performance and work with the Maintenance department to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with other production duties as assigned.
