General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a fabricator to design and fabricate metal parts, tools and jigs through precision machining, welding, drilling and assembly from sketches and blueprints.

This full-time, second-shift position (2:30pm–12am) requires 3+ years fabrication experience, ability to read drawings, use precision tools, and work with AN fittings, fasteners and aircraft riveting tools. Salary range: $59,000–$94,625 annually.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree or technical/trade training plus 3+ years in fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Ability to work with AN/MS fasteners and aircraft riveting tools.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Designs and builds production tooling for fabricated parts.
• Prototyping from sketches; prototypes engine parts.
• Forms sheet metal parts using precision tools.
• Runs mills, lathes, drills, grinders to tight tolerances.
• Sets up engine lathes for production machining.
• Performs welding, fitting and soldering on thin metals.
• Reads blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances.
