Job summary

Butterball is hiring a production operator to set up and operate machines safely and efficiently in our NC facility. You will run equipment to meet production standards, monitor line performance, and coordinate with supervision, QA and maintenance on downtime and performance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, be 18+, pass background/drug tests, and complete Lock Out–Tag Out training. Previous food-manufacturing experience is a plus, with readiness for overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical.
• Ability to pass Lock Out – Tag Out training.
• Ability to perform basic math and typing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production standards by running machines and equipment.
• Set up, operate, maintain equipment and tear down as instructed.
• Run product at line speed as scheduled by Production Supervisor.
• Maintain ongoing communication with Production Supervision, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance as it relates to equipment performance and downtime.
• Follow safety procedures and checklist for startup, emergency stop, and restart of the lines after downtime.
• Follows all work safety policies and guidelines, such as Lock Out – Tag Out.
• Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and /or safety issues/concerns.
• Adheres to all USDA and GMP product standards and guidelines.
• Maintains a clean and organized area.
• Cross train on other equipment/areas as needed.
• Maintain equipment records through paper logs or on assigned electronic device accurately and timely.
